IBPSA Nordic

BuildSim Nordic 2026 brings together researchers, practitioners, educators, and students from across the Nordic region and beyond to exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and share the latest research findings in the dynamic field of building performance simulation. This conference provides a unique platform to foster collaboration and innovation among professionals working to improve the design, operation, and sustainability of buildings and building systems.

The event welcomes presentations on a wide range of topics related to building simulation, including but not limited to system design, HVAC, energy production and use, indoor climate, environmental impact, and occupant comfort. Researchers and industry experts are encouraged to submit their work, highlighting advancements in simulation methods, tools, and applications that contribute to more energy-efficient and sustainable buildings.

BuildSim Nordic 2026 marks the 10th edition of the BuildSim Nordic conference and is the 2nd International Nordic conference organized under the auspices of IBPSA, the International Building Performance Simulation Association. This milestone reflects the event’s growing importance as a leading forum for knowledge exchange in the Nordic countries.

The conference is open to both members and non-members of IBPSA-Nordic. We warmly invite practitioners from architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industries to join us, offering an excellent opportunity to stay updated on the newest ideas, research breakthroughs, and practical applications in building simulation. Attendees will benefit from networking with experts, attending workshops, and participating in discussions that shape the future of building performance.

We look forward to welcoming you to Umeå, Sweden, in August 2026.
